I wanted to share my experience with Lisa's Kangaroo Retreat INC in Port Hedland, WA. It was the best 6 weeks I've had in Australia! I was volunteering as a kangaroo Au Pair. This meant I got to feed and take care of around 60 kangaroos. The work is a lot of fun and you get to play and cuddle with the Joey's as much as you want. They are looking for more volunteers to start in July or whenever your available. Accommodation and food (best meals) is provided, as well as use of their car for exploring the area. It was truly rewarding work and I'm so grateful for my experience there.

Would you like to spend four mornings getting to know a group of these marine mammals?
Are you at least 16 years old?
If you answered yes to all three questions, consider volunteering at Monkey Mia.
Volunteers play an important role in helping to manage the Monkey Mia Reserve, the Monkey Mia visitor centre and the dolphin experience. They assist staff with the wildlife interaction and enhance the stay of visitors by providing information about the dolphins, Monkey Mia Reserve and the surrounding Shark Bay World Heritage Area.
As a volunteer you get to help with:
Feeding dolphins
Collecting dolphin data
Looking after the beautiful beach front
Helping rangers with other jobs
The hours are early but short – 7:00am to 12:00pm
Your entry to Monkey Mia will be free while volunteering and you will also be rewarded with the satisfaction of helping manage the Monkey Mia Reserve and dolphin experiences.
A good knowledge of spoken and written English is essential. The minimum amount of time you can volunteer is five days and the maximum is two weeks. Many people plan holidays around volunteering at Monkey Mia so it is important to book your dates in advance.

RSPCA WA could simply could not do all we do with the team of volunteers who give so generously of their time.
In 2024-25, 243 volunteers generously gave an average of over 2,000 hours of their valuable time each month to help rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need throughout WA.
And hundreds of foster carers opened their homes to animals in need.

We are a family operated a chicken (eggs) and pig farm 20km north of Dubbo and are currently looking for 2-4 volunteers to help out on the farm.
Duties will mainly include
- [ ] Collect/process/package eggs.
- [ ] Feed and water pigs.
- [ ] Our animals get moved every week onto new pasture so we may need a hand with this.
- [ ] We also grow as much of our own veggies/friut as we can so there could also need some help in the garden.
We have unlimited internet and would be happy to supply your food in exchange for your help. All the food we supply is either off the farm (eggs/pork/lamb/veggies) or sourced from organic farmers so you will be only be eating the best!
We have 3 maremma dogs and 2 pups in training with their own amazing personalities to keep you on your toes during the days! These will need feeding during egg collecting.
We would love you to stay for minimum 3 months, the longer the better!
This is a volunteered position but we would also offer $100 per person per week to help with any expenses.
